Grunge Board Book

I was lucky enough to get to take classes with Tim Holtz and the end of June. They were up in Dallas and my friend Lisa and enjoyed 3 classes with him. Here is the book we made, this was the last class and it was fast paced and non stop stamping and gluing. The cover and all the pages inside are covered with old dictionary and ledger papers. The front is collaged with grunge paper flowers that Tim provided in the class. All we did was stamp on them and age a bit with some ink. A book plate and few grunge ornaments and viola, a pretty cool cover.
Inside the pages we inked them up and used pieces of grunge shapes as stencils to create the backgrounds. That is as far as the class took me.
I finished up the rest of the pages using all the fun stuff we were provided with our class kits and a few stamps of his that I own. I also used the rub on letters from Heidi Swap that were provided in the kit.
The way to get the papers grungy and with different tones in the ink is by using Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Multi-Medium to glue down the pages. ( I can't wait to try it out on backgrounds for canvases!)
I will post the birdies and jewelry we made in the other classes soon!! Enjoy!!! ~Heather
LFB Pages

These are my submissions for a Vintage Child Little Fat Book Page Exchange. Each page measures 4x4 inches and I was luck enough to find some coasters at Micheal's to use for the backing. The boy and girl images are by collage stuff. The hinges and vines are cut from my Cricut then painted up in metal tones. The little flowers are sequins with a dab of distressed stickles on top. Enjoy!!! ~Heather
